Job description


  • Food safety: Ensuring food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed, and removing expired or spoiled ingredients 
  • Deliveries: Assisting with unloading deliveries of food and kitchen supplies 
  • Storage: Storing ingredients according to food safety regulations 
  • Workstation setup: Helping set up and clean workstations 
  • Waste disposal: Emptying trash bins regularly and disposing of waste 
  • Collaboration: Working with chefs and cooks to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly 
  • Transferring supplies: Moving supplies and equipment between storage and work areas 
    • Kitchen helpers usually have knowledge of general kitchen operations and food storage guidelines. They may also learn about kitchen and restaurant operations, and work with and learn from chefs.
