Job Title: GNM Staff Nurse

Department: Nursing

Location: Gurgaon

Reports To: Nurse Supervisor / Head Nurse

Job Summary:

A GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting doctors, and ensuring smooth hospital operations. The nurse will be involved in patient care, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and supporting healthcare teams in hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care:

    • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, dressing wounds, and assisting with daily activities.
    • Ensure comfort and hygiene of patients by helping with bathing, feeding, and mobility.
    • Maintain a compassionate and professional approach while handling patients and their families.
  2. Medication Administration:

    • Administer prescribed medications and injections as per the doctor’s orders.
    • Monitor and record patient reactions to medications and treatments.
    • Maintain proper documentation of medication administration.
  3. Medical Procedures & Support:

    • Assist doctors during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
    • Prepare and sterilize medical equipment and supplies.
    • Collect samples for diagnostic tests and ensure proper labeling.
  4. Patient Monitoring & Documentation:

    • Observe and report changes in patients' health conditions.
    • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
    • Update electronic health records and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
  5. Emergency Response:

    • Respond quickly to emergency situations and provide first aid or CPR when required.
    • Assist in critical care procedures and support doctors in emergency treatments.
  6. Team Collaboration & Communication:

    • Coordinate with doctors, senior nurses, and other healthcare staff for effective patient care.
    • Communicate patient progress and concerns to relevant medical teams.
    • Provide emotional support to patients and educate them about their health conditions.
  7. Compliance & Safety:

    • Follow hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and safety protocols.
    • Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) Diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Certification: Registered with the State Nursing Council.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of nursing experience (freshers may also apply).
  • Skills:
    • Strong patient care and communication skills.
    • Ability to handle medical equipment and assist in treatments.
    • Basic computer skills for record-keeping.
    • Ability to work in shifts and handle stressful situations.
