Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Purchase Executive with over 4 years of
experience in procurement within the shipping or marine industry. The ideal candidate will
manage procurement activities for ship spares, stores, services, and logistics, ensuring costeffectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
 Handle procurement of ship stores, spares, provisions, and technical equipment.
 Vendor management – sourcing, evaluation, onboarding, and performance
monitoring.
 Float enquiries, prepare comparative statements, and finalize purchase orders.
 Negotiate with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
 Coordinate with technical and operations teams for procurement planning.
 Track and ensure timely delivery of ordered items to vessels or warehouses.
 Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data in ERP systems.
 Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
 Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics providers for shipping documentation and
customs clearance.
 Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorders as needed.
Key Requirements:
 Graduate / Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field.
 4+ years of relevant experience in marine or shipping procurement.
 Familiarity with marine equipment, technical items, and consumables.
 Strong negotiation and communication skills.
 Proficient in MS Office and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
 Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
 Knowledge of international trade terms, import-export regulations, and logistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
 Experience working with shipping companies or ship management firms.
 Knowledge of marine classification societies and documentation.
 Certification in Supply Chain or Logistics Management is a plus.
