Job Brief -
The Head of Information Technology (IT) for a manufacturing plant is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the management of SAP, IT systems, IT Infrastructure and services to support the manufacturing operations. He should collaborate with plant leadership, department heads, and corporate IT teams to align technology solutions with business objectives and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- SAP, Automation and Digitisation:
· Collaborate with corporate IT teams in managing and implementing SAP Processes particularly in the areas of Production Planning-PP, Materials Management-MM & Plant Maintenance-PM.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization and digitisation within manufacturing operations to improve efficiency.
- Lead the implementation of digital manufacturing technologies, such as robotics, IoT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence), and data analytics, to enhance production processes and decision-making.
- IT Infrastructure and Support:
- Manage the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and workstations within the manufacturing environment.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and resolution of IT issues and incidents affecting manufacturing operations, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
- Cybersecurity and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity measures and protocols to protect manufacturing systems, data and intellectual property from cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards and best practices related to data security, privacy, and safety within the manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing Systems:
- Ensure the reliability, availability and performance of manufacturing systems to support continuous production operations. Ensure NIL downtime.
- IT Planning and Alignment:
- Implement IT strategies in line with the manufacturing plant's goals.
- Collaborate with plant leadership, production managers and other stakeholders to understand technology needs and challenges.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with corporate IT teams, including enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and application development to leverage corporate IT resources.
- Partner with other departments such as operations, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain to integrate IT solutions, share data, and drive synergies across the manufacturing value chain.
- Vendor Management and Budgeting:
- Evaluate, select, and manage external vendors, suppliers, and service providers for manufacturing-related IT solutions, equipment, and services.
- Develop and manage the IT budget for the manufacturing plant, ensuring cost-effective investments in technology infrastructure, systems, and resources.
- Talent Development and Team Leadership:
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing IT team with specialized skills and expertise in manufacturing IT systems, automation, and control technologies.
- Define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the IT department.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in IT leadership roles within manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, systems, and technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and industrial automation technologies.
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure management, including networking, servers, virtualization, and cybersecurity within manufacturing environments.
- Experience with digital manufacturing technologies, such as IoT, AI, robotics, and data analytics, and their applications in optimizing production processes.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading IT initiatives and projects within manufacturing settings.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
