Job description

Job Title: EHS Executive Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Location: Hyd. Reporting to: EHS Manager Experience: 2–5 years in a similar role Qualification: Chemical Engineering Certifications Preferred: NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA / Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety Job Purpose To ensure effective implementation of Environment, Health & Safety policies, legal compliance, risk mitigation, and safety culture enhancement across the plant. The EHS Executive will lead initiatives in safety management, environmental control, statutory compliance, training, and emergency preparedness. Key Responsibilities ✅EHS Program Implementation & Management  Coordinate and evaluate EHS objectives and targets through structured management programs.  Develop and review HARA (Hazard Assessment & Risk Analysis) and HAZOP for existing and new products/processes.  Conduct and document Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews (PSSR). ✅Permit to Work (PTW) System  Implement and monitor the Work Permit System for hot work, height work, confined space, cold work, line break, etc.  Ensure permit issuance, proper authorization, and on-ground compliance with all safety precautions.  Conduct regular audits of PTW documentation and processes. ✅Hazard & Risk Management  Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments (HIRA), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).  Recommend and implement control measures for safe work operations. ✅Incident Investigation & Emergency Preparedness  Investigate all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; identify root causes and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).  Conduct mock drills (fire, first aid, evacuation) and document gap analysis and improvement actions.  Maintain Emergency Response Plan, Fire Fighting Plan, and Evacuation Procedures. ✅Environmental Management & ETP Operations  Operate and monitor Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and ensure compliance with effluent discharge norms.  Maintain environmental records and submit statutory reports (Form IV, VI, Manifest, etc.).  Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste as per the Hazardous Waste Rules, 2016.  Ensure compliance with Water Act, Air Act, Environment Protection Act, and PCB requirements. ✅Legal Compliance & Documentation  Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948, and relevant State Factory Rules.  Maintain statutory documentation such as: o Accident Register (Form 12), Health Register (Form 11) o Safety Officer Return (Form 25), Annual Return (Form 27) o Consent to Operate/Renewals, Boiler, DG set, and Pressure Vessel compliance o MSDS for chemicals and hazardous materials  Coordinate with statutory bodies (Factories Inspector, PCB, Fire Department, etc.). ✅Facility & Equipment Safety Inspections  Conduct periodic inspections of all plant areas, electrical systems, pressure vessels, fire hydrants, and safety equipment.  Identify unsafe conditions, ensure timely corrective actions, and maintain inspection records.  Support in preventive maintenance planning for safety-critical systems. ✅Audit Management & Customer Interaction  Support internal/external audits including PSCI, EMS, and ISO 45001.  Prepare Audit Compliance Reports, CAPA, and track closure of observations. ✅Training & Awareness Programs  Plan and deliver safety training, including: o Induction training for new employees and contractors o Job-specific training and toolbox talks o ETP/STP operations training, Fire Safety, First Aid, and Emergency Response  Maintain training records and evaluate effectiveness.  Promote safety awareness through banners, posters, meetings, and campaigns. ✅Fire Safety & Plant Safety Systems  Inspect and maintain fire hydrants, extinguishers, sprinklers, and alarms.  Conduct fire pump performance checks, fire load assessments, and system readiness verification. ✅Committee & Stakeholder Engagement  Conduct periodic Safety Committee Meetings and follow up on action points.  Participate in HSE review meetings and cross-functional safety walks. Skills & Competencies Required  Strong knowledge of EHS statutory regulations, ETP operations, risk analysis, and compliance standards.  Hands-on experience with Work Permit Systems, HIRA, JSA, incident investigation, and CAPA tracking.  Excellent documentation, training, communication, and audit-handling skills.  Familiar with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS, and environmental reporting tools.
