Salary -35k  to   39 K

Location - Noida

1. Product Design and Prototyping

Collaboration with R&D: Manufacturing engineers often collaborate with research and development (R&D) teams to bring new phone designs to life. They focus on making sure that the design can be efficiently mass-produced.

Prototyping: Before a full-scale production run, engineers will work on prototypes to test form, functionality, and manufacturability. This includes assessing materials, ergonomics, and ease of assembly.

2. Assembly Line Setup

Automation: Many modern telephone manufacturing processes rely heavily on automation. Engineers design, configure, and optimize automated production lines for tasks like component placement, soldering, and testing.

Human-robot collaboration: In some cases, manufacturing engineers focus on integrating robots alongside human workers to speed up processes like assembly, packaging, and testing.

3. Materials and Supply Chain Management

Material Selection: Choosing the right materials is critical. For phones, this could include plastics for casings, metals for components, glass for screens, and specialty materials for touch sensors.

Supply Chain Coordination: Manufacturing engineers work closely with suppliers to ensure a steady, cost-effective supply of these materials. They also need to manage logistics and ensure that the supply chain is as efficient as possible.

4. Quality Control and Testing

Quality Assurance: Engineers set up tests to make sure that the final product meets specifications and consumer expectations for durability, performance, and functionality. This might include drop tests, battery life testing, and ensuring call quality.

Failure Analysis: If there are defects in a batch, manufacturing engineers investigate what went wrong and identify root causes—whether that's a flaw in design, materials, or the manufacturing process itself.

5. Cost Optimization and Efficiency

Lean Manufacturing: Using techniques like lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, engineers work to minimize waste, reduce downtime, and ensure that production is as efficient as possible.

Cost-Effective Production: Ensuring the manufacturing process is cost-effective is key. Engineers may make decisions regarding automation, labor, or material sourcing to help reduce production costs without sacrificing quality.

6. Environmental and Sustainability Concerns

Sustainable Materials: More companies are focusing on using recyclable materials or ensuring that the products are more eco-friendly.

Energy-efficient Processes: Manufacturing engineers may also look for ways to reduce the energy consumption of production processes.

Key Skills for Manufacturing Engineers in Telephone Production:

Mechanical and Electrical Engineering: Knowledge of both hardware design and electrical components of telephones.
