| Budgeting Support | Study the Client Design Specification (CDS) and accurately calculate required design manhours based on project scope and complexity. |
| Provide detailed manhour estimates to the Estimation team for incorporation into project costing at both pre-order and execution stages. | |
| Track actual design manhour consumption and associated costs against approved budgets throughout project execution. | |
| Ensure strict adherence to the allocated design budget and proactively flag any potential overruns with timely recommendations. | |
| Continuously review, validate, and update manhour estimates based on design revisions or evolving project requirements to maintain budget alignment and cost control. | |
| Design Management | Pre Order Stage |
| Attend kick off meeting to understand the client requirements in detail | |
| Provide support to the sales team during pitch meetings to the clients for presentation of proposed designs and resolving technical queries | |
| Debrief the design team regarding client and project requirements as detailed in the CDS | |
| Provide overall creative vision and design direction to the team for developing designs that are visually striking, technically sound, and aligned with client and project requirements | |
| Oversee accurate and timely submission of concept designs, BOQs, Preliminary MTOS and mock-up design and fabrication designs associated with mock-ups to the relevant stakeholders | |
| Submit the final concept design deck to the Sales team for further feedback and approval. | |
| Act as a point of contact for sales team for all design related queries during the pre order stage | |
| Execution Stage | |
| Clearly understand the finalised CDS and WO received from the sales team and its full scope | |
| Attend project kick off meeting and provide inputs for planning and execution of the project from a design perspective | |
| Ensure design plans are in alignment with the project requirements and provide sign off | |
| Provide overarching direction for the development of designs ensuring adherence to design standards, project specifications, and aesthetic quality. | |
| Ensure technical soundness of shop drawings, MTOs, cutting lists, fabrication drawings, and schedules prepared by the team. | |
| Review and approve high-impact design decisions, especially in areas involving dimensional/material changes or deviations from original design intent. | |
| Oversee the timely preparation and release of final design documents to the clients and provide support to expedite approval for each stage | |
| Provide necessary guidance and support to help team members meet quality and deadline expectations. | |
| Serve as the principal liaison for complex design-related discussions with clients, consultants, and internal leadership and resolve escalated technical issues identified during site surveys, mock-up fabrication, or production coordination. | |
| Implement and maintain robust design review processes, ensuring internal QA/QC protocols are followed for all submissions. | |
| Design Consultant Management | Assess project scope and complexity to identify suitable consultants and provide recommendations to the for finalization. |
| Define clear scopes of work, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities for each consultant. | |
| Review key consultant submissions and providefeedback to maintain design intent and quality standards. | |
| Coordinate consultant participation in client meetings and ensure their availability as needed to support project progress. | |
| Monitor consultant performance, manage escalations, and intervene in case of deviations from expectations. | |
| Ensure timely closure of consultant deliverables, including approvals, billing verification, and adherence to contractual requirements. | |
| Documentation and Reporting | Ensure that all design documentation (concept to as-built) is version-controlled, stored systematically, and complies with internal and external standards. |
| Provide high-level reports to leadership on design progress, risks, resource utilization, cost variance and key project metrics. | |
| Drive compliance with regulatory, client-specific, and industry norms in all design deliverables. | |
| People Management | Provide regular performance feedback and mentorship to employees, addressing their needs and fostering their development. |
| Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution, in a fair and consistent manner. | |
| Oversee employee development and training plans, identifying opportunities for skill enhancement. |
