About the Opportunity

The Estimator, Scheduling & Quantity Takeoff Specialist will play a critical role in supporting AEIS’s bidding, project planning, and cost control processes. The position involves preparing accurate cost estimates, schedules, and quantity takeoff s for 1

inspection and materials testing services, and collaborating with project managers, fi eld teams, and clients to optimize resource planning and project execution.

This individual will be instrumental in developing standardized estimation frameworks, improving accuracy in pricing models, and ensuring alignment with AEIS’s operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

● Prepare detailed cost estimates for inspection and engineering projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

● Analyze drawings, specifi cations, and project documents to determine scope, perform quantity takeoff s, and prepare competitive proposals.

● Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify scope, confi rm assumptions, and adjust estimates as needed.

● Develop and maintain a cost database, including historical cost data, unit rates, and benchmarks for future reference.

● Monitor and update estimates as project requirements or market conditions change, ensuring timely reporting to management.

● Participate in bid review meetings and assist in developing pricing strategies.

● Coordinate with scheduling teams to prepare and maintain project schedules, milestones, and resource plans.

● Support forecasting and manpower allocation for ongoing and upcoming projects.

● Identify cost optimization and value engineering opportunities.

● Prepare budget reports, cost summaries, and cash fl ow projections.

● Engage with vendors and subcontractors for competitive pricing and up-to-date material rates.

● Frequently request, and analyze lookaheads and CPM schedules and process them to identify current (in contract) AEIS services and potential (change orders) AEIS services for all active projects.

● Track and report on key scheduling milestones, risks, and resource constraints.

● Ensure all work complies with AEIS and client standards, as well as regulatory requirements.

● Advanced Excel and estimation software skills (e.g., Bluebeam, PROCORE).

● Strong analytical and mathematical reasoning abilities.

● Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, construction codes and technical specifi cations.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise eff ectively across project and client teams.

● Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple bids and estimates simultaneously.

● Understanding of project workfl ows, cost structures, and scheduling principles.

● Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, or equivalent).

● Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to anticipate and resolve scheduling confl icts.

Ideal Profi le

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related fi eld.

● Experience:

○ Minimum 2 years of estimation and quantity takeoff experience in construction, inspection, or materials testing.

○ Experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) preferred.

● Technical Profi ciency:

○ Quantity takeoff tools (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.)

○ Estimation databases and cost modeling.

○ MS Offi ce and Google Workspace.

● Soft Skills:

○ Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

○ Problem-solving aptitude and adaptability.
