Deputy project manager

Job description

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination

Assist the Project Manager in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation for HVAC projects.

Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure project milestones are met. Review HVAC designs and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.

2. Execution & Supervision

Supervise on-site HVAC installation activities and ensure adherence to design and safety standards.

Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance to ensure quality workmanship.

Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with clients and consultants.

3. Technical & Quality Control

Ensure that all HVAC systems (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ducting, piping, etc.) are installed as per approved specifications.

Troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

Implement quality control and testing procedures (T&C, performance verification).

4. Budget & Cost Management

Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets and cost control measures.

Support procurement activities—review vendor quotations, material submittals, and delivery schedules.

Verify contractor claims, invoices, and change orders.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain project documentation including progress reports, material approvals, and site correspondence.

Prepare weekly/monthly project status reports for management and clients.

Ensure project close-out documents, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals are completed.

6. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

Enforce compliance with safety standards and company HSE policies.

Conduct regular safety audits and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.

7. Client & Stakeholder Management

Serve as the secondary point of contact for clients and consultants.

Assist in handling client queries, technical clarifications, and project handover processes.

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders for smooth project execution.
