Job description
A Telesales Executive sells products or services over the phone by making outbound calls, managing inbound inquiries, and persuading potential customers to make a purchase. Key responsibilities include generating leads, understanding customer needs, providing product information, handling objections, and meeting sales targets. This role requires strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Core responsibilities
- Sales and lead generation:
- Make outbound calls to potential customers (cold calling) to generate interest and leads for the sales team.
- Customer engagement:
- Answer inbound calls, promote products and services, and engage with both potential and existing customers to understand their needs.
- Product knowledge:
- Explain products and services clearly and answer customer questions accurately.
- Sales process:
- Guide customers through the sales process, overcome objections, and close deals.
- Customer relationship management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, and handle inquiries or complaints professionally.
- Order processing:
- Accurately take and process customer orders.
- Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and sometimes provide reports on sales performance.
Required skills and qualifications
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Persuasion: Strong sales and negotiation skills, including the ability to persuade customers.
- Customer service: A customer-oriented attitude with the ability to handle different personalities and provide excellent service.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with basic computer programs, such as CRM software, is often required.
- Problem-solving: Ability to handle customer complaints and solve issues promptly.
- Resilience: A cool-tempered and resilient attitude to handle rejection is necessary.
- Education: A high school diploma is typically required, and some employers may prefer a bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Previous experience in sales or customer service is often preferred.
