Assistant Production Manager

Job description

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the Production Manager in the planning and scheduling and maintenance activities to ensure adherence to committed delivery timelines.
2. Oversee shop-floor operations to maintain an orderly workflow and ensure the effective utilisation of available resources.
3. Liaise closely with repair technicians, maintenance personnel, and the quality control team to ensure all repair activities conform to established standards.
4. Ensure timely availability of tools, spare parts, consumables, and equipment essential for uninterrupted repair operations.
5. Identify operational inefficiencies and process bottlenecks, and propose appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to production, repair, and maintenance activities, including reports and MIS.
7. Assist in the implementation and continual enhancement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process improvement initiatives.
8. Contribute to the training, mentoring, and performance evaluation of technicians and support staff.
9. Coordinate with stores, procurement, and planning functions to facilitate smooth material movement and effective inventory control.
10. Address routine operational issues independently and escalate critical concerns to the Production Manager in a timely manner.
