Assistant Production Manager Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:  Support the Production Manager in the planning and scheduling and maintenance activities to ensure adherence to committed delivery timelines.  Oversee shop-floor operations to maintain an orderly workflow and ensure the effective utilisation of available resources.  Liaise closely with repair technicians, maintenance personnel, and the quality control team to ensure all repair activities conform to established standards.  Ensure timely availability of tools, spare parts, consumables, and equipment essential for uninterrupted repair operations.  Identify operational inefficiencies and process bottlenecks, and propose appropriate corrective and preventive measures.  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to production, repair, and maintenance activities, including reports and MIS.  Assist in the implementation and continual enhancement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process improvement initiatives.  Contribute to the training, mentoring, and performance evaluation of technicians and support staff.  Coordinate with stores, procurement, and planning functions to facilitate smooth material movement and effective inventory control.  Address routine operational issues independently and escalate critical concerns to the Production Manager in a timely manner.
