Position: Insurance Distribution (National Head)
Location: Andheri, Mumbai
Reporting to: Group CEO / CEO
Position Summary
The Head – Insurance Distribution will drive growth and profitability across the insurance vertical, leading strategy, partnerships, and operations. This role combines business development, team leadership, and technology-driven solutions to expand market reach, optimize channels, and ensure regulatory compliance. The CEO oversees the overall strategy and financial performance of the Mutual Fund & Insurance distribution business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute national distribution strategy aligned with business goals.
- Expand B2B2C and B2C networks using scalable, variable-payout models.
- Identify growth opportunities, channels, and product segments.
Partnerships & Business Development
- Build and manage relationships with insurers, brokers, bancassurance, and other partners.
- Negotiate best-in-class commercial terms and product access.
- Collaborate with product manufacturers on innovative offerings.
- Analyze trends and customer needs to drive innovative solutions.
Distribution & Operations
- Lead and manage high-performing sales and distribution teams.
- Optimize channel performance and monitor KPIs to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Technology & Analytics
- Lead digital distribution platforms to improve onboarding, payouts, MIS, and compliance.
- Drive adoption of technology by partners, agents, and customers.
- Use analytics to track performance and improve partner engagement.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full adherence to SEBI, AMFI and IRDAI regulations, including timely statutory filings.
- Implement strong processes to curb mis-selling and promote ethical business practices.
- Establish effective customer support systems and create trust among customer.
- Monitor operational and financial risks and ensure timely reporting.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Mentor and develop leadership talent within the distribution function.
Financial Management
- Full P&L responsibility for insurance businesses.
- Drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and sustainable profitability.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.

- Strong understanding of insurance products, market dynamics, and regulations.

- Familiarity with digital distribution, CRM, and analytics tools.
Qualifications & Experience
- MBA/PGDM in Finance, Marketing, or related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in insurance distribution or financial services.
- Proven experience managing multi-channel distribution networks and large teams.
