The Associate Consultant – Overseas Education, often referred to as a Student Coach, serves as the primary point of contact for a group of aspiring scholars. This role is not just about selling a service; it is about building lasting relationships, understanding each student’s unique aspirations, and delivering a seamless admission experience from start to finish.

Key duties include taking full ownership of a student portfolio. Coaches onboard new candidates, conduct detailed counselling sessions, and maintain regular follow‑ups to keep applications on track. They must develop an in‑depth understanding of university admission cycles, entry requirements, and intake dates across multiple geographies. This knowledge enables them to advise students on the most suitable courses and institutions, as well as on eligibility exams such as GRE, GMAT, IELTS, and TOEFL.

Monitoring progress is a daily activity. Coaches review each application’s status, identify potential bottlenecks, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams—including Growth, Student Counsellors, Key Account Managers, Loan Advisers, Test‑Prep specialists, and the Visa team—to resolve issues quickly. They also manage post‑offer activities, ensuring that deposits are collected and that students receive timely guidance on visa documentation and enrollment procedures.

While the role is heavily relationship‑focused, it also carries clear sales objectives. Coaches are expected to apply proven sales strategies to meet intake targets, balancing revenue goals with a genuine student‑first philosophy. Strong negotiation skills, persuasive communication, and the ability to present complex information clearly are essential.

Successful candidates will typically hold a graduate degree or MBA in Business, Management, or Psychology, and bring 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably within the ed‑tech sector. They should possess excellent research capabilities, be comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment where deadlines are tight.
