The Accounts Assistant will join a dynamic finance team responsible for the end‑to‑end processing of daily transactions across multiple business units. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the role provides essential support that ensures the accuracy of financial data, timely invoicing, and smooth cash flow management. You will be expected to handle a high volume of entries, from voucher creation to ledger updates, while maintaining strict adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.
Key duties include preparing invoices and receipts for both new and existing customers, following up on overdue payments, and reconciling bank statements against recorded transactions. Your work will directly influence the company’s ability to meet its financial obligations and sustain healthy relationships with clients. By promptly addressing billing queries and providing clear explanations of account status, you will help reduce payment delays and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Collaboration with the sales department is a core component of this position. You will receive order details, pricing information, and contract terms from sales representatives, then translate these inputs into accurate billing documents such as quotations, pro‑forma invoices, and final invoices. This cross‑functional interaction requires a solid understanding of the sales cycle, the ability to ask clarifying questions, and the skill to ensure that billing aligns with agreed‑upon terms.
During month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing periods, you will assist senior staff by gathering supporting documentation, posting adjusting entries, and preparing schedules for audit review. Maintaining organized and audit‑ready records is critical; you will be responsible for filing electronic and hard‑copy documents in a manner that facilitates quick retrieval and compliance verification.
The ideal candidate possesses a foundational knowledge of accounting principles and is comfortable using popular accounting software such as Tally or QuickBooks. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for tasks like bank reconciliation, aging analysis, and generating custom reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to interact professionally with clients, resolve payment disputes, and coordinate effectively with internal teams.
Beyond technical abilities, the role demands a proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail. You must be able to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently while still contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated organizational skills and the capacity to follow up persistently on outstanding payments will be key indicators of success.
We offer a supportive work setting that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. As you gain experience, opportunities may arise to take on more complex accounting responsibilities, support larger projects, or mentor junior staff. The position provides exposure to a broad range of financial processes, making it an excellent stepping stone for individuals aspiring to advance within the accounting or finance field.
