Job description

Our organization is expanding its student support function to better serve the growing community of online learners. As a Student Counsellor, you will become the trusted advisor for prospective and enrolled students, helping them navigate a diverse catalogue of digital courses and programs. Your day will begin by reviewing inbound inquiries—whether they arrive via phone, live chat, or video call—and prioritizing them based on urgency and student needs. You will conduct thorough needs assessments, asking targeted questions to uncover each learner’s academic background, personal interests, and long‑term career aspirations.

Armed with this insight, you will craft personalized recommendations that align course content, schedule flexibility, and fee structures with the student’s goals. This involves explaining the architecture of each program, highlighting key learning outcomes, and clarifying any prerequisites or technical requirements. Your ability to translate academic jargon into clear, relatable language will be essential for building confidence and trust.

Accurate record‑keeping is a cornerstone of the role. Every interaction must be logged in the CRM system, complete with notes on student preferences, follow‑up actions, and outcomes. This data not only supports personalized service but also feeds into broader analytics that drive program improvements and marketing strategies.

Beyond one‑on‑one counselling, you will represent the organization in public-facing events. This includes delivering presentations during virtual orientation sessions, hosting webinars that showcase new courses, and participating in outreach programs aimed at schools and community groups. These activities help raise brand awareness and generate a pipeline of prospective learners.

Performance metrics will be tied to key indicators such as conversion rates, student satisfaction scores, and retention percentages. While targets provide structure, the primary focus remains on delivering a high‑quality, student‑centric experience that fosters long‑term engagement.

To succeed, you should possess a bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline, coupled with at least one year of experience in student advising, EdTech support, or a comparable setting. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to listen actively are non‑negotiable. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, video conferencing tools, and CRM platforms will enable you to operate efficiently in a digital environment.

We offer a collaborative culture where continuous learning is encouraged. Regular training sessions keep you abreast of emerging educational technologies and best practices in student counselling. As the organization scales, there will be clear pathways for professional growth, including opportunities to specialize in career guidance or to take on leadership responsibilities within the student success team.

If you are passionate about empowering learners, enjoy working in a fast‑paced digital landscape, and thrive on building meaningful relationships, we invite you to apply and become a pivotal part of our mission to make quality education accessible to all.
