Job description
A delivery boy is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely transport of goods, documents, or food from merchants to customers. Key duties include navigating routes, handling items carefully, collecting payments, updating delivery statuses, and providing excellent customer service. A valid driver's license and, often, a two-wheeler are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery & Logistics: Transport items efficiently to various locations, ensuring they arrive in good condition.
- Loading/Unloading: Carefully load, unload, and organize packages in the vehicle.
- Navigation: Use GPS or map apps to find the fastest routes to avoid traffic.
- Customer Service: Act professionally, handle queries, and obtain signatures upon delivery.
- Payment Collection: Collect cash or verify online payments and maintain transaction records.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and operational safety of the vehicle.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
Requirements and Skills
- Valid driver's license (two-wheeler or four-wheeler depending on the role).
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns.
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading, potentially with heavy items.
Typical Working Conditions
- Full-time, part-time, or shift-based, including weekends and evenings.
- Requires riding or driving for long periods in various weather conditions.
