Delivery Executive

Job description

A delivery boy (or courier) ensures the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of items—such as food, documents, or merchandise—from vendors to customers. Key duties include navigating routes via GPS, loading/unloading packages, collecting payments, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and physical stamina.

Key Responsibilities

1. Logistics & Delivery: Planning and following efficient routes to deliver packages promptly.
2. Customer Service: Greeting customers, addressing inquiries, and obtaining signatures.
3. Product Handling: Loading, transporting, and unloading items carefully to prevent damage.
4. Operations: Collecting payments (cash/digital), managing, updating delivery status, and, if needed, handling returns.
5. Vehicle Maintenance: Performing basic checks on the assigned vehicle and reporting accidents or traffic violations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. License: Valid driver's license (two-wheeler or vehicle, as required).
2. Navigation: Proficiency with GPS and route-mapping applications.
3. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry packages.
4. Time Management: Ability to adhere to strict schedules.
5. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and dispatchers.

Working Conditions

1. This role often requires working outdoors, in various weather conditions, and may include weekends or holidays.
2. High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
