Job description
A delivery boy (or courier) ensures the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of items—such as food, documents, or merchandise—from vendors to customers. Key duties include navigating routes via GPS, loading/unloading packages, collecting payments, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and physical stamina.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics & Delivery: Planning and following efficient routes to deliver packages promptly.
- Customer Service: Greeting customers, addressing inquiries, and obtaining signatures.
- Product Handling: Loading, transporting, and unloading items carefully to prevent damage.
- Operations: Collecting payments (cash/digital), managing, updating delivery status, and, if needed, handling returns.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Performing basic checks on the assigned vehicle and reporting accidents or traffic violations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- License: Valid driver's license (two-wheeler or vehicle, as required).
- Navigation: Proficiency with GPS and route-mapping applications.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry packages.
- Time Management: Ability to adhere to strict schedules.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and dispatchers.
Working Conditions
- This role often requires working outdoors, in various weather conditions, and may include weekends or holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
