Database Developer – Migration

Job description

Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Database Developer – Migration with strong expertise in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for migrating databases, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity while transitioning systems from MSSQL to PostgreSQL environments. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep SQL expertise, and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated or automated code outputs. Key Responsibilities  Perform end-to-end database migration from MSSQL to PostgreSQL  Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures  Work extensively with T-SQL (MSSQL) and PL/pgSQL (PostgreSQL)  Analyze and optimize query performance using execution plans  Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in database systems  Review and validate AI-generated or automated SQL code for: o Syntax accuracy o Security vulnerabilities o Performance efficiency  Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy during migration  Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless deployment  Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in real-time Key Requirements  5+ years of experience in database development  Strong hands-on experience with: o T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) o PL/pgSQL (PostgreSQL)  Proven experience in MSSQL to PostgreSQL migration projects  Deep understanding of: o Complex data types o Dynamic SQL o Set-based logic  Expertise in query optimization and performance tuning  Experience analyzing PostgreSQL execution plans  Strong problem-solving and analytical skills  Ability to critically review and improve code quality Preferred Skills  Experience working in data migration or transformation projects  Familiarity with database security best practices  Exposure to automation tools or AI-assisted development workflows  Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
