QA/QC Engineer

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Assurance (QA):

• Develop and implement Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) and procedures.

• Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQ to ensure compliance.

• Ensure adherence to ISO standards and company quality policies.

• Conduct internal audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

2. Quality Control (QC):

• Perform site inspections for civil, structural, and finishing works.

• Monitor ongoing work to ensure it meets required standards.

• Coordinate with site engineers for quality-related issues.

• Conduct material inspections and approve incoming materials.

• Ensure proper execution as per approved method statements.

3. Testing & Documentation:

• Coordinate with labs for material testing (concrete, soil, steel, etc.).

• Maintain records of test reports, inspection checklists, and NCRs.

• Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs).

• Maintain quality records and documentation for audits and handover.

4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions:

• Identify non-conformities and issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).

• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

• Ensure closure of all quality-related issues.

5. Coordination & Reporting:

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients on quality matters.

• Attend site meetings and provide quality updates.

• Prepare daily/weekly quality reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Certification in QA/QC or ISO (preferred).

Experience:

• 3–8 years of experience in construction QA/QC.

• Experience in infrastructure / building / industrial projects preferred.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods.

• Familiarity with IS codes / ASTM standards.

• Good documentation and reporting skills.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

• Proficiency in MS Office and basic engineering software.
