POSITION: Executive – Fire and Safety​

Position Overview:

The Executive – Fire and Safety will be responsible for day-to-day fire prevention activities, safety

compliance, and emergency preparedness at the plant and project sites. This role involves identifying fire

hazards, ensuring fire safety equipment is functional, supporting safety trainings and audits, and

maintaining documentation in line with EHS and statutory norms. The goal is to maintain a safe

workplace by minimizing risks related to fire and other safety hazards.

FUNCTION: EHS

ROLE: Executive – Fire and Safety

QUALIFICATION:

∙Diploma/Degree in Fire and Industrial Safety from a recognized institute.

∙Certification in Fire Safety or Industrial Safety (preferably from Regional Labour Institutes

(RLI)/Central Labour Institute (CLI) or equivalent).

∙Additional certifications in First Aid, Emergency Response, or Firefighting (preferred).

EXPERIENCE:

∙2–5 years of experience in a fire and safety role at a manufacturing/FMCG/chemical/industrial

plant.

∙Familiarity with fire safety regulations, emergency planning, and compliance requirements

Factories Act, etc.).

∙Experience in conducting fire drills, managing fire safety systems, and incident reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fire Prevention & Safety Systems

1.Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers, hydrants, auto fire detectors, and sprinkler

systems.

2.Ensure fire safety equipment is in working condition and properly maintained.

3.Monitor and enforce fire safety signage and evacuation plans across the facility.

4.Supervise the storage and handling of flammable and hazardous materials.

Safety Audits & Inspections

1.Assist in regular safety walkthroughs and audits.

2.Report unsafe practices or conditions to the EHS manager and follow up on corrective actions.

3.Help implement fire safety measures as per audit observations.

Emergency Response Preparedness

1.Maintain and update emergency response plans (ERP).

2.Coordinate and conduct fire drills and evacuation mock exercises.

3.Support emergency response teams in training and readiness.

Incident Reporting & Investigation

1.Assist in reporting near-miss incidents and fire-related safety events.

2.Maintain accurate records of incidents, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

3.Support root cause analysis and implement recommended controls.

Compliance & Documentation

1.Maintain fire safety records, equipment maintenance logs, and statutory registers.

2.Assist in preparing documents required for inspections by external authorities (DISH, etc.).

3.Support filing of reports related to fire safety and compliance.

Training & Awareness

1.Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings on fire prevention, evacuation procedures, and

emergency response.

2.Provide support in EHS training programs across shifts.

3.Ensure new employees are inducted in fire and emergency procedures.

REPORTS & MEETINGS

∙Submit daily/weekly safety observations and reports to the EHS team.

∙Assist in preparing monthly fire and safety compliance reports.

∙Participate in EHS committee meetings and support documentation.

JOB AUTHORITY

∙Authority to stop unsafe work or practices related to fire or life safety.

∙Responsible for timely escalation of fire safety risks or incidents to EHS Manager.
