Sr. Back End Engineer (remote)

Job description

Must have skills:

• 4-6 years backend engineering / solution engineering or sales experience at a Telco, MVPD, broadcaster, Content Provider, or technology supplier to the video/OTT industry .


•  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Bachelor's degree required


• Experience working with various AWS Services (S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue Catalog)


• 2+ years of production Javascript/Typescript application design, development and testing experience.


• Deep hands-on expertise (4+ years) in the programming languages Java, Scala


• Experience (3+ years) with big data tools such as Apache Kafka, Kafka Streams, Spark, Zookeeper etc.


• Good experience on No SQL databases like Cassandra, ScyllaDB and caching systems like Redis.


• Understanding of multi-threaded computing and expertise with the reactive, concurrent, message-driven architecture - Akka, java concurrency libraries.


• Working knowledge of deploying in public cloud providers such as AWS.

Responsibilities:

• 4+ years of experience in tech-based companies and preferably start-ups.


• Participate as an integral member of the Backend team to articulate the value of the clients platform, showcasing and demonstrating the platform’s capabilities


• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code.


• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices.


• Troubleshoot and debug technical issues across the full application stack.


• Strong CS fundamentals, including system design, data structures and algorithms.


• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.


• Proficient in at least one of modern front-end frameworks React.js and supporting technologies (Redux, Flux).
