·  Customer Assistance and Service:

• Store clerks are responsible for greeting customers
  warmly, identifying their needs, and providing assistance throughout their
  shopping experience.


• They answer questions about products, provide
  recommendations, and ensure customers find what they are looking for.


• Excellent customer service skills are essential to
  handle inquiries, resolve issues, and create a positive impression of the
  store.

·  Operating Cash Registers and Handling
Transactions:

• Store clerks manage the checkout process, including
  scanning items, processing payments, and issuing receipts accurately.


• They must be proficient with cash handling procedures,
  as well as operating electronic payment systems and handling exchanges or
  refunds.

·  Merchandising and Inventory Management:

• Ensuring shelves and displays are well-stocked,
  organized, and visually appealing is a key responsibility.


• Store clerks may receive deliveries, unpack
  merchandise, and restock shelves to maintain inventory levels.


• They also monitor inventory to identify low stock items
  and communicate replenishment needs to management.

·  Store Maintenance and Cleanliness:

• Store clerks are responsible for maintaining
  cleanliness and orderliness throughout the store.


• This includes tasks such as sweeping and mopping
  floors, dusting shelves, cleaning glass doors, and ensuring restrooms are
  tidy.
