Overall purpose of the Role:
The purpose of the role of a Maintenance Manager is to ensure that all team members have the
best physical resources available to complete their duties. Maintain the premise of the Factory
and Equipment in a clean and orderly condition following all the prescribed regulations. The
goal is to successfully oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company’s
facilities. The Maintenance manager will need to provide advice and support to the overall
Maintenance function to ensure that the facilities, layout and machinery used for Research and
Production run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative
maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment, Spring
cleaning and Deep Cleaning. This position involves people management and budgetary/ cost
reporting.
Key Result Areas:
1. Increase operational effectiveness of the facility layout and machinery.
2. Adherence to Health Safety and Environmental Requirements.
3. Work closely with the Head of Operations/ Production to implement modern manufacturing
principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices
and processes.
4. Ensure that Factory buildings are secure and Factory premises are kept clean and hygiene by
implementing good housekeeping practices and schedules.
Required Qualification:
At least 2-year of full-time experience in the manufacturing unit.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Management and Maintenance:
Preventive maintenance:
● Developing and implementing a well Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule
● Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of all the electromechanical,
hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
Corrective maintenance
● Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved to the right skills in the team,
planning and managing effective works.
● Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and make
recommendations for repair or replacement.
● Assist in the analysis of engineering design problems.
Low Down Time
● Schedule both internal and external jobs to maximizing planned downtime
● Having corrective action plans ready and trained support personnel to be able to reduce
unplanned downtime due to equipment malfunction.
Recommendation of upgrades on equipment for efficiency:
● Plan the need and feasibility of additions, modifications and alterations to existing
facilities and equipment.
● Participate in the design of such modifications to ensure modified/new equipment and
installations are maintainable as per standards.
● Manage the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from
drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers through to full installation in
collaboration with all relevant parties.
Managing all documentation, AMCs, warranties, replacements, maintenance equipment:
● Maintain relevant documentation of all AMCs, warranties, replacements and
maintenance equipment.
● Ensure renewals of AMCs at appropriate time.
Engineering:
● Facilitate the application of principles and theories of manufacturing processes for the
company's manufacturing facility
● Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using
knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly
methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
● Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
● Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
● Designing Prototypes during product development at Labs (when needed)
● Providing efficiency-based inputs to heads of departments
