Roles and responsibilities:
➢ Experiential Learning Programs: Develop, implement, and manage experiential
learning programs, such as internships, cooperative education, practicums, field
placements. This involves establishing partnerships with employers, organizing
placements, and ensuring a meaningful learning experience for students.
➢ Career Counselling and Guidance: Provide career counselling services to students,
helping them explore career options, identify their interests and strengths, and make
informed decisions about their professional paths. Assist students with resume
writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and networking skills.
➢ Industry Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, industry
professionals, and alumni to create job and internship opportunities for students.
Collaborate with employers to understand their hiring needs and communicate these
opportunities to students.
➢ Job and Internship Placement: Facilitate the placement process by connecting
students with appropriate job and internship opportunities. This involves maintaining
a job board, coordinating recruitment events such as career fairs and on-campus
interviews, and assisting students with application processes.
➢ Professional Development Workshops: Organize and conduct workshops and
seminars to enhance students' professional skills, including topics like resume
writing, interview techniques, networking, job search strategies, and workplace
etiquette. Provide guidance on professional development resources, such as online
courses, certifications, and workshops.
➢ Alumni Engagement: Engage with alumni to foster mentorship programs, alumni
networking events, and guest speaker series. Leverage the experiences and
expertise of alumni to provide valuable insights and guidance to current students.
➢ Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student placements,
internship experiences, and career outcomes. Generate reports and analyze data to
assess the effectiveness of career services programs, identify trends, and make
data-driven improvements.
➢ Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with faculty, academic departments,
student organizations, and other campus units to integrate experiential learning and
career development opportunities into the curriculum. Work as a team to support
students' overall success and collaborate on campus-wide initiatives.
➢ Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends, labor market demands, and changes
in recruitment practices to provide relevant and up-to-date career advice to students.
Attend professional development conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance
knowledge and skills in career development.
