Position Overview:
As a Costing Engineer at Kabra, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing the costs associated with the manufacturing processes. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all projects are completed within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis in an engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis of manufacturing processes, including materials, labor, and overheads.
- Budgeting: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and within the approved limits.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for new projects and provide financial forecasts.
- Cost Control: Implement cost control measures and monitor ongoing projects to prevent cost overruns.
- Reporting: Generate detailed cost reports and present findings to senior management, highlighting areas for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, procurement, and production teams to optimize costs without compromising quality.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization and lead initiatives to implement these changes.
- Vendor Management: Analyze vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
- Compliance: Ensure all costing activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification in Cost Management would be a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in cost management software (such as SAP, ERP systems), and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis in an engineering context.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
