Job description



  • Overseeing work: Supervising HVAC trades and vendors, and ensuring they perform their duties 
  • Assigning work: Reviewing and assigning work orders, and prioritizing and coordinating jobs 
  • Inspecting work: Ensuring work is completed to safety codes and other standards 
  • Maintaining records: Maintaining records and projecting costs 
  • Negotiating: Negotiating with vendors 
  • Procurement: Assisting with the procurement of parts and supplies 
  • Scheduling: Scheduling and ensuring the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance work 
  • Evaluating performance: Evaluating the performance of subordinate staff 
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with codes and policies 
  • Safety: Maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring safety is the highest priority 
  • Data collection: Collecting and analyzing data and information, including utility costs and usage 





    • HVAC supervisors should have excellent communication skills, negotiation and supervisory skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of HVAC tools, materials, and operations.
