Job description


  • Monitoring: NOC engineers monitor the health of network devices and servers, as well as traffic patterns and performance. They also monitor security logs. 
  • Troubleshooting: NOC engineers troubleshoot issues that arise, and work to resolve them quickly and efficiently. They may also consult with IT teams and carriers to resolve problems. 
  • Security: NOC engineers ensure that systems are secure and protected from malware by performing regular maintenance. They also ensure that user accounts are set up correctly. 
  • Backups: NOC engineers are responsible for ensuring that an organization's data is consistently backed up. 
  • Software: NOC engineers update, troubleshoot, and install software on systems connected to the network. They may also manage software licenses for the NOC's IT systems. 

  • New technologies: NOC engineers may implement new technologies. 
  • Communication: NOC engineers may communicate with field technicians.
